In the bustling heart of Kansas City, a movement is quietly gaining momentum. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBSKC) is seeking passionate volunteers to step up and become mentors to children waiting for the guidance and support only a Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Couple can provide. With updated maps highlighting areas where children are eagerly waiting for mentors, the need for volunteers in the KC area has never been greater.

Becoming a Big is a rewarding commitment that involves spending quality time with your Little (a child in grades 2-11) a couple of times a month. Whether it's sharing a home-cooked meal, walking the dog, playing video games, or even washing your car together, these simple yet impactful moments can make a world of difference in a child's life.

Interested in learning more about becoming a mentor? BBBSKC offers various volunteer information sessions to suit your schedule. These sessions are held in-person downtown, virtually via Zoom, or even on-demand through a video option. During these sessions, you can learn what it takes to be a Big and decide if this fulfilling opportunity is right for you.

To join the cause and help transform the future of a child in your community, contact BBBSKC directly to get an invitation to an upcoming info session. Alternatively, you can email your questions or request to sign up for an info session at info@bbbskc.org.

Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential, and as a mentor, you can provide the support and encouragement they need to thrive. Take the first step towards changing a life by filling out this form to see how many Littles are waiting near your home: Volunteer Form.
